Hey Everyone!!!
WOW, it's been a long time! Can't believe how fast a year just passed by here at JNP!! Just wanted to share some updates as to the recent haps here at JNP since our last blog.
First off, we did get our new, more refined website up and running. Very happy with the results, and a new system for how the video are organized will be available soon. Special thanks to Nadine and Christina, because anyone who has built their own website knows how much work it can be, and they both did a great job!!
Over the last year, we did two videos for Christian singer Dawnelle Elizabeth. We had a lot of fun and are proud to say that currently her play count for “Face to Face” we did a few weeks ago is already up to over 34,000 plays, and the first one we did earlier for “And I Know” is rocking over 53,000 plays!!! We are very excited that her videos have struck such a chord with her audience and we are proud to be helping her get her name out there worldwide!!
Another client of ours last year, Jennifer Knight, has been doing great!! She has proudly landed herself a deal with record label giant Sony Records and is currently working in NY with some big name producers. I heard they are looking to do a new video soon, and are looking for a way to have JNP Productions involved!! We are very excited to also have helped Jennifer show the world her talents and hope to be working with her again soon!!
The video for Psychothermia's first single “Anarchy” was finally released, and everyone including the band was very pleased. If you haven't seen this over the top video yet, check it out!!! They are currently playing countless shows and are battling for a chance to play on Rockstar Energry Drink's Uproar Festival!!
A personal highlight this year was working with young singer/songwriter Cassidy Diane!! We had a few meetings, and knew right from the beginning it was going to be a challenge. But we love pushing ourselves, and this video has turned out to be one of my favorites. It revolves around teen suicide, something Cassidy felt strongly about having this tragedy strike her own school a number of times, and she hoped she could let others, who may be feeling this way, know that they are not alone. The song and video are very powerful, and we invite you to watch it and share “The Note” here. This video was also a runner up in a video contest for projects under $5,000 in budget!!
JNP has always been about diversity, and we had a new style of music come up that was new to even us, opera!!! We filmed and edited a video for Broadway star Candese Marchese for her version of “Non C'est Rien” that took us from the famous merry-go-round at Balboa Park in San Diego to the historic theater of La Paloma in Encinitas CA. After the first version of the video was edited, director John Alexander decided he wanted do more filming before releasing. This project is currently put on hold while Candese is recovering from surgery. We wish her a quick comeback, and look forward to finishing this project.
After opera we stepped back into the rap world with Lil Gifted. We did an urban themed video for his song "Jealousy & Addiction" that showcased his talent across a variety of San Diego backdrops. He was very cool to work with and said he was already planning on his next video, so we hope to be working again soon!! His video we did can be seen here.
Next we got to work with new pop sensation Sumika Forbes and did her first video for her hit single “Miracle”. Sumika, originally from Hawaii, has been writing catchy songs since she was a kid. She was a treat to work with and came in with a lot of ideas and a ton of enthusiasm. Everything came together nicely on this project, and everyone who helped out had such contagious energy, it was impossible not to have fun over the 2 days of location shooting!! Keep an eye out for what's next for Sumika!! The video we did for her is here.
We finally got to work with the legendary metal masters of Benedictum, doing a video for their new song “Scream”!! Amazing to think after the number of albums and huge festivals this band has played all over the world, that JNP were the lucky ones to do their FIRST VIDEO!!! We headed to Phoenix AZ and filmed at the famous Scottsdale Studios! Even though we ran them through take after take, the band was a lot of fun to work with, and had us laughing the whole LONG day. I edited the footage and the band and I were happy, but both thought it needed an extra “something”. So “V” and I sat down on a conference call one day, and came up with some ideas to add a story element to the performance video. We were on the same page, and so we went right out and found 2 very good actors, and rocked out some scenes that really tie the whole video together. Right now the video is in Italy being viewed by their label Frontiers Records for final approval. At this time, there might be some more editing and final touches added, before finally be released. Not to give away too much, lets just say, we are VERY excited about it finally coming out and being able to share this monster!!
Finally, after much thought, JNP Productions has decided to continue calling San Diego home. There was thought of moving operations to L.A., but we later decided we enjoy our lives, friends and team we've built for ourselves here in S.D. That being said, there will be some changes as we head into late 2013 early 2014 as we see JNP grow with additions to key positions in our team. This is key to our overall goal of being able to offer our quality work to a larger audience.
Also, some new projects coming up that we are excited about, including our 3rd video with New Jersey metal band “Ominous” for their new song “The Other Me”. Those who saw the videos we shot with them in NY and Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, know we like to go BIG when we work together, and this video will be even BIGGER!! In fact, it will probably be the most ambitious video we have ever done here at JNP!! Filming will take place in W. Virginia at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. Can you say “one of the most haunted places in the country”!!! Should be interesting folks...
As always, thanks for the support everyone and we will do better about staying in touch more often to keep the blogs shorter!!!
Cheers...
