Hey Everyone,
Again, wow, it has been awhile since my last JNP Blog Post. Guess that means we have been BUSY!!! As always, just wanted to let ya all in on what has been going on over the past months here at JNP in one easy to chew blog. So let's do THIS.......
Let's see, where did we leave off in the last blog?? Oh yeah, the mighty BENEDICTUM!!! So soon after the last blog, the video I did for "Scream" was finally released by Italian label, Frontier Records, and took off right away with great response and a lot of plays!!! As of this, it is at over 80,000 plays and counting!! SO HAPPY to read all the great response in the comment sections. Being this was the first "official" video by this legendary metal band, I was determined to not let any of their fans down.... To see the video, click this link here.
Next up was San Diego rapper Buck Zero with his song "Everything", that was produced by Vic Jones. Buck was a lot of fun to work with, and we had a blast capturing his performance and story throughout beautiful Downtown San Diego. Cast and crew came together seamlessly on this one and Buck was very happy with the results. AND THAT is what we love to hear at JNP!!! Check it out here.
Next up was a quick trip to New York to work again with Castrofate and do a video for their song "Shattered Soul". This was our 3rd video with him, and a great chance to try out some new gear, including some special effects lenses and new software, that fit perfect with this videos concept. As always we had fun working with Danny, and look forward to his next video. To check out our latest collaboration, click here.
Right after that was Marcus King. It was a real treat to work with such a outspoken and socially aware artist. He came to me with a simple idea for his song "HoodY Walk", and let me run with it. Mixing in old pics and footage to tell the story and message of Mr. King's song "Hoody Walk". With topic about racial inequality in America, the video and its images were meant to "cause a reaction". Marcus later said, "You took the idea right out of my head and made it come to life, better then I had ever imagined it would be!". It is my favorite part of running JNP, making an artist vision come to life. This song also featured Jon Russo on guitar, who I have had the pleasure to work with in previous videos for Canobliss and Psychothermia. To see the final video, please click here.
Some may not know this, but JNP doesn't do just music videos. We also do EPK's(Electroinc Press Kits) that help cover bands expand their exposure and chance at bigger and better gigs! It was real pleasure to work with the pro cover band, Hitman Honey and do 2 different video clips for them. These were a mix of performance, showing off their amazing renditions of some classic rock songs, and candid interview footage that introduced themselves to potential buyers. JNP has been doing these types of videos for years, and is proud of the positive response they have received. To see Hitman Honey's EPK, here. To check out some of our other promo vids go to Promo/EPK's in our Video Vault.
A few months ago, I was contacted by Jennifer Knight, whom we did a video for awhile back for her debut hit "Hostage". She asked if we could do an edit for a video that was shot by a 3rd party, and left her unhappy with the results. This meant a lot to us to be able to help out a client who was currently needing help. So we jumped in and got to work. The footage, although being pretty difficult to work with, was given the ol "JNP" treatment, and within a few weeks, Jennifer had a new video that her label and her are now proud of. To see the results, please click here.
Finally Joe has just returned from another trip to the east coast. This one to New Jersey to work with the metal band Ominous on their 3rd video with JNP for their song "Forget". This one would really push Joe and his crew into some hard to reach and CREEPY locations, but the footage turned out AMAZING!! I am currently a week into editing, and it's really coming together nicely. This one will be out in a few weeks if all goes as planned!! As far as the video that was slated for their song "The Other Me", that had to get postponed due to logistics with the location, but it will be happening!! (Editors Note, Forget has been finished and can be seen here.
So that pretty much sums up the last 10 months or so. We did also purchase some new cameras, including another matching Canon DSLR to double our production coverage, and a new GoPro 3, that opens up a bunch of new possibilities for exciting angles and perspectives. Also, some new software from Red Giant was purchased that has been really fun to work with and I'm excited by the results already.
There are some big things in the works planned for the next few months, but I'll wait for now to say anything about them.
As always, thanks for the support and I will continue to try to update things more often here....
Until next time....
Joe
